SIGMA Caribbean Virtual Academy

The Sigma learning model

Learn independently. Get human support when it matters.

Sigma is built around structured autonomous and self-directed learning. Students use the platform at their own pace within programme deadlines, while teachers provide scheduled classes, feedback, intervention and targeted live support.

24/7 learning

Four staffed days. Always-on access.

The platform remains available every day. Regular staffed operations run Monday to Thursday, with live teaching mainly between 3:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Atlantic Time during Sigma's initial part-time-teacher phase.

Autonomous learning first

Students complete structured digital lessons, readings, practice, projects, quizzes and assessments independently. Live teaching is used where direct explanation, discussion, intervention or intensive preparation adds value.

Requested live assistance

Students who are not enrolled in Full School request and pay for live academic assistance when they need it. This keeps the core learning model flexible and affordable.

High-content topic classes

Sigma advertises focused live classes on difficult or high-demand topics across subject areas. Non-Full-School learners pay to join. Full School students attend applicable sessions at no extra cost.

Full School support

Full School students receive normal programme support at no extra charge. This includes scheduled live classes tied to their programme, relevant high-content classes, normal academic assistance, teacher feedback and Sigma-assigned intervention.

Optional one-to-one private tutoring beyond the student's normal programme remains a separate paid service.

Friday and weekend policy

Friday is primarily an independent learning and catch-up day. Saturday and Sunday are non-routine instructional days. The platform remains available throughout.

Approved intensives, examination boot camps and emergency academic interventions may be scheduled outside the normal Monday-Thursday staffed week.
